Our Services

There are so many wonderful modalities that contribute to mind/body wellness. Our center is just beginning and the list of services will be continually evolving. For now, we offer physical therapy to address pain and injury, pilates and yoga to assist in foundational strength and flexibility, massage to address soft tissue needs, trauma therapy for emotional health management, as well as nutrition and reiki.

Physical Therapy

Movement is vital. A good quality of life is difficult to attain if pain is limiting even your daily tasks, let alone preventing a consistent movement program. The more efficiently your kinetic chain is moving, the less stress and strain you will place on your joints and soft tissue. Often times where you are hurting is not the source of the dysfunction and determining the cause can be somewhat of an art, blending knowledge of biomechanics with hands-on skills. We are here to problem-solve your pain.

Massage

We invite you to experience the healing touch of our massage therapists. The benefits are numerous, including improved circulation, detoxification, soft tissue healing and promotion of the body attaining a parasympathetic state. This “rest and digest” state is vital for all of the systems in the body to function more efficiently. Addressing fascial and muscle tightness through massage will enhance your body’s ability to move with more ease and help to reduce both emotional and physical stress.

Pilates

Joseph Pilates said, “Physical fitness is the first requisite to happiness.” Unfortunately, life is not conducive to balanced movement and proper form is not inherent knowledge for the majority of us. Our instructor believes that confidence to move with better posture, flexibility, and strength translates to a better quality of life. With options for private lessons, duets or mat classes, we will help your body to find foundational strength and flexibility. You’ll be amazed at the emotional strength that can result.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi originated in China as a martial art.  In our time, it is practiced as an effective exercise for health.  Tai Chi employs mindfulness strategies, slow fluid movements and intentional weight shifting in an upright position.  The practice of Tai Chi can produce health benefits that include decreased pain, and improved balance, strength and flexibility.

Trauma Therapy

The type of trauma therapy offered by Dr. Chris Lawrence is called Somatic Experiencing (SE). It addresses the physical and psychological symptoms of stress, pain, shock, and trauma by acting on the causes of the symptoms. Rather than the “top-down” talk therapy approach, SE is “bottom-up” focusing on the impact the trauma had on the nervous system. Our bodies hold on to the energies and tensions that were felt during times of trauma, preventing us from returning to a place of resilience and equilibrium.
