About Mindful Movement

Welcome to the Wellness Center

We are here to help you problem-solve your pain, learn to move better, feel stronger, and attain emotional healing. We currently offer physical therapy, pilates, yoga, massage therapy, nutrition, trauma therapy, and reiki. More services will be offered as the center evolves.

Our Philosophy

“Wellness is the complete INTEGRATION of body, mind, and spirit – the realization that everything we do, think, feel, and believe has an effect on our state of well-being.” – Greg Anderson

The prerequisite for realization of all of these things is making time and space for awareness. In a culture where busyness is the gold standard, self-care is looked down upon. We believe that self-care is not only necessary to thrive, it is vital for prevention and healing. This space has been created to offer guidance for your mind and body to meet you where you are in your journey, whether it be prevention, healing or both.

Our Founder

Rachael Wittenberger

A native of Kansas City, MO, Rachael received her BHS in PT from the University of Missouri in 1999 and a MBA from the University of Iowa in 2003.  Graduating at the top of her class, she began her pursuit of out-patient therapy with a strong interest in hands-on manual technique.  Struggling with her own SI dysfunction and low back pain, her career evolved into further in-depth study of the mechanics of the pelvis and spine. Her treatment techniques are strongly influenced by her continuing education in osteopathic manipulation as well as a variety of classes in functional movement, postural restoration and continually evolving techniques that have been acquired in her career of 17 years.

She believes that everything is connected.  The entire kinetic chain is designed to absorb and transfer energy in an efficient manner.  If something is “off” in the chain, something will be overused and pain can ensue.  Her passion lies in problem-solving the source of pain and in developing a plan to alleviate and prevent the pain from returning.  With a commitment to continually learning, a humbling appreciation of the complexity of the human body and a desire to meet patients where they are on their journey to healing, her approach is not typical.
